The HALO Water Filtration System treats the water coming into your home at the main line, not just at one tap. By the time it reaches your showers, appliances and faucets, the water has been through five stages of filtration and conditioning.

What the five stages do

• Two stages of activated carbon, which target chlorine and the tastes and odors that come with city water
• Two stages of fine filtration media that catch sediment and small particles
• The HALO ION conditioner, which treats hard water minerals so they are far less able to form scale

Hard water without the salt

The conditioner is the part Collin County homes tend to care about most. Instead of removing calcium and magnesium with salt the way a conventional softener does, HALO changes how those minerals behave so they pass through your plumbing rather than sticking to your water heater, fixtures and glassware. No salt bags to carry, no brine discharge, no drain connection for regeneration.

Maintenance, or the lack of it

The system backwashes itself automatically and there are no cartridges to change on a schedule. Anyone who has owned a salt softener before will understand the appeal.

What installation involves

The HALO installs on the incoming main line, usually in the garage or a utility area, before the water heater. Most installations are done in a single visit, and we will confirm the placement and the price before any work begins.

Scale is the main reason water heaters and tankless units in Collin County fail before their time. Treating the water where it enters the house protects everything downstream, which is why installing a HALO alongside a new water heater is a common pairing. The plumbing is already open.

HALO questions we get asked

Is this a water softener?
Not in the conventional sense. A salt softener removes hardness minerals and needs salt, a drain and ongoing attention. HALO conditions those minerals instead, without salt or chemicals, so scale has a much harder time forming. Will it change how the water tastes?
The carbon stages exist for exactly that. Chlorine taste and odor are the most common complaint about city water here, and they are what activated carbon handles best.

How long does a system last?
HALO rates the system for years of typical household use without routine cartridge changes. We will go over the manufacturer's coverage for your installation when we quote it.
