Almost every home in Celina's 75009 zip code was built after 2015. That makes Celina a different plumbing town from Richardson or Plano: not old pipes, but builder-grade systems meeting some of the hardest water in North Texas. Most of what we are called out for here traces back to that.
Genzel Plumbing is based in McKinney, family owned since 2001, licensed and insured (Texas license RMP-23766).
Light Farms. Celina's largest master-planned community, homes from 2015 onward. The older sections are approaching water heater replacement age, and water softener installations are in demand for good reason.
Mustang Lakes. Golf course community with higher end fixtures that want careful handling. Faucet repair, tankless water heater maintenance and inspections.
Cambridge Crossing. Mostly one to five years old. New owners get the most value from an inspection and a softener before the builder warranty ends.
Plumbing repairs. Builder-grade fittings fail, hard water chews through faucet cartridges, pressure regulators need adjusting. Plumbing repairs
Water heater repair. Celina's 2015-era homes are entering their first water heater cycle. Scale is usually the story; sometimes it is repairable, sometimes the tank is done, and we tell you which. Water heater repair
Water heater installation. Tank or tankless, sized to the household, permitted, financing available. Water heater installation
Tankless water heaters. Many Celina homes have them. Descaling once a year is what keeps them out of error codes. Tankless water heaters
Water filtration and softening. With Celina's water hardness, a whole home softener is the highest value plumbing investment in the house. It protects every fixture, appliance and the water heater from mineral damage. We recommend it alongside almost every faucet repair here. Water filtration systems
Drain cleaning. Slow drains and backups, cleared and, when they recur, camera inspected. Drain cleaning
Slab leak repair. Less common in homes this new, but the clay soil is the same as everywhere else in the county. Slab leak repair
You do not need to wait for something to break. In a home that is one to five years old we check the pressure regulator (builder settings drift, and high pressure shortens the life of everything), confirm the water heater has flush valves installed so it can actually be maintained, look for slow leaks at toilets and supply stops, test the water for hardness, and check the drain lines the builder's crew may have left debris in. If the builder warranty is still running, we tell you what to send back to them.
That visit is included every year on the Genzel Guardian Plan, along with a water heater flush and 15 percent off anything else you need.
You get prices before the work starts, usually as Good, Better and Best options. Our work is guaranteed. Guardian Plan members ($27 a month or $282 a year) get 15 percent off, no dispatch fees, and an annual flush, inspection and water quality test, which in Celina is worth doing.
Is Celina's water really that hard? Yes. Cartridge damage and clogged aerators happen faster here than in most of North Texas. If you are replacing faucet parts every year, that is why.
Do I need a softener if I have a tankless heater? It is the single thing that most extends a tankless unit's life here. Scale inside the heat exchanger is what eventually kills them.
